String of pearls

Drops of morning dew glisten on a spider web like pearls threaded on a string. This is some micro-scenery from my recent morning walk. I'm not sure why the moisture would be attracted to this particular thread of the spider web more than the others.

I do know that the moisture was attracted to me as I walked through knee-high grass to get to a pond that I wanted to photograph in the early morning fog. Within minutes of arriving at this spot my shoes and socks and pantlegs were soaked in dew. Not only that but I found that my lenses, filters and viewfinder continually fogged over in the thick air.

I was a stranger from a world of dryness trying to make my way in a moist world. More than once a bullfrog chuckled at me as I squished around trying to position myself on the banks of the water. Then, having captured a boxful of images on a long strip of plastic film, I headed home to dry off.

Wonderful story, and a beautiful image! Most people miss out the small wonders like this that make up our everyday world. Thank you for capturing it and sharing it with all of us!

Lovely! :) And yes, there are great lengths we go to to get good shots, aren't there?

Very beautiful and I hope you think well worth the wet shoes.

The shoes are fine, now. I didn't mention that my camera took a tumble while out that morning -- the front of my favorite lens lost its nameplate and now looks like its been through a battle. But it still works OK (the photo of the path and the sun through the trees was taken after the small accident). Resiliency all the way around.

Wonderful shot. Wonderful. I remember staring in wonder at big spider webs as a kid. All the while being scared the spider might get on me.
