The Pioneer Family memorial sculpture took its creator, Elgin native Trygve Rovelstad, a lifetime to create. The bronze work depicts a family of pioneers choosing this particlular spot in which to settle. It is located at the entrance of Elgin's downtown riverwalkThe sunset behind the sculpture is the work of another Creator.
