Autumn light

The late afternoon sun illuminates a turn in Nippersink Creek in northern Illinois. The Nippersink connects a chain of lakes in the region that feed into the Fox River that flows through my hometown of Elgin, Illinois on its way to the Illinois River, which flows into the Mississippi River and eventually winds up in the Gulf of Mexico.

I love your pics! What camera do you use?

Laura, glad you enjoy my photos. I use a Nikon FM10, which is your basic manual Nikon, no automatic anything. And it's film, not digital. I'm still of the mind that film still captures more detail and color than digital (which continues to improve - I'm sure I'll make the jump someday).

Thanks for stopping by. And I love the upbeat nature of your blog!

I used a Nikon during my years on the newspaper. It was the best camera I ever had, but I am digital now too and I do like instant gratification by unloading pics in my computer.

The Illinois River flows right past my house which is on a bluff overlooking Peoria.
