In tow

As peaceful as this scene appears, behind it is a tragedy. Ducks have broods of several ducklings - I've seen some this year of nine or more on my evening walks through Dundee. To have only two ducklings following a mother duck means something happened to the greater part of this brood, and that something was not good.

Nature is tough. Even here in the suburbs.

James, this is beautiful! I've been trying and trying to get a good image of the mother duck/goose with a brood and I haven't even come close to this. Great job!

This is a beautiful picture that tells that unknown story. At least she had two....And they are staying very close to mom.

Is this from the Fox River? I took a similar pic of a goose family at Voyageur Park at a Fox River cleanup event a couple years ago. It is at:
