This photo was shot as a prelude to the two star trail photos from last week. While waiting for night to fall, I passed by a pond in the countryside west of Elgin, Illinois. A slight breeze caused the reeds and grasses along the shore to sway, yet was not strong enough to kick up any ripples in the water.It’s as if a big drop of sky landed in the field, a reflection of the deepening blue descending from above.
