Worth a mint

Wild mint forms a carpet of green in the moist soil near the Fox River in Tekakwitha Wood Forest Preserve. The barkless trunk of the tree caught my eye as I passed by it, a break in the expanse of green.

Spring has arrived in northern Illinois.

umm can almost smell it. Not seen wild mint before but we have wild garlic over here and walking through the woods whent its in bloom is fantasic. Crushing the leaves releases that wonderful aroma.
