Forgive me for being a bit self-absorbed today, but hey, it’s my birthday. I’m entitled. There’s nothing like a birthday to make you stop and think for a moment about having taken one more trip around the sun. I made this photograph from a boardwalk over a marsh on Hatteras Island. It’s a picture of where I’m at in this particular stage of my life: plenty of green left, although the dried brush in the corner is beginning to creep in. The water of the channel on its way to the sea keeps flowing like the years of time, but not without reflecting the light of the One who makes all things possible.
