Along everyone's journey through life, there are people, places and circumstances that serve as points of light along the way. You know them ... friends, parents, mentors, dreamers, special places you return to every so often. Every contact adds richness to the person who is you.I had set the blog up one month earlier, but I hadn’t yet decided what I actually wanted to do with it. Then I came up with the mission statement above and posted it on May 21, 2005. I’m a few days past the one-year anniversary, but hey, close enough.
This blog is a record of people, places and things that have caused me to stop and wonder at the marvelous passage we call life. And like a good traveler, I have photographs to share. Feel free to join me in this travelogue ...
I notice that my site counter is now nearing 30,000 visitors and it’s very likely that someone will trip that number today. So if it’s you, please let me know by leaving a comment. I have something for you.

Well, I could just sit here for like 30 minutes and keep refreshing the page until that magic number appears . . . but, I won't.
You have a great blog here, James. I'm glad with you that God has so blessed it with a great readership. Your photography work is truly remarkable!
Here's to another year of photoblogging!
No fair. The site meter doesn't show up on my computer.
But I do enjoy your photos — keep 'em coming.
Gotta hate those technical difficulties. I'll post the ISP and location of the 30,000th visitor if I need to. Thanks for pointing this out.
And some of us don't need to be bought to be your friends. :-)
Excellent work on the site Jim. It continues to be a great few minutes of daily escape. Congrats on your first year!
Congratulations on the first year! Some fantastic shots on there. Keep them coming! ;-)
Congratulations!
Your pictures have been inspirational in so many ways and I discovered that last June.
God bless.
