In a city of angles, squares and rectangles, the Cloud Gate, aka The Bean, located in Chiacago's
Millennium Park, is at first a jarring sight. It's an intruder, an alien, a drop of liquid mercury fallen from the sky.
But sometimes it takes a little jarring for people to take notice of the world around them, made dull by repetition and familiarity.

If you hadn't said what it was, I would have assumed that you'd Photoshopped it into the picture. :-o
ReplyDeleteThe Bean was my favourite thing to see when I visited Chicago last fall. It was so facsinating I couldn't stop photographing it!
ReplyDeleteI saw "The Bean" on TV last time.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection. It's....uhm....well....LARGE.
ReplyDeleteExcellent! I think this is the best photo of this sculpture that I have seen. Very elegant composition and beautiful clarity.
