Fall panorama

Spring is a metaphor for renewal and new birth; winter is a metaphor for death. Fall is that season that speaks of passing the prime of life and looking ahead to the end.

This photograph, taken in northern Illinois, certainly alludes to this. The harvest has been gathered and is safely stored. The leaves on the trees have served their purpose through the summer months and are now brown and withered. The clouds of winter are rolling in.

Good to know that beyond that is the promise of the spring to come.

He has posted a series of stunning photographs that uses offbeat lighting techniques utilizing flashlights and zippo lighters. Sometimes he uses both in the same photo. I love this picture.

We spent six years in a farming community in northwestern Ohio. It was fall when we moved there, busy harvest time. This image brings back those wonderful memories for me.

Fall is a metaphor for settling in for life's end, it's true. But it also speaks to me of the bounties of God and of reaping what we sow.

A truly beautiful photo!

Excellent point, Mark. I'll be thinking of bounty and reaping as I photograph this fall!
